Annual Board Dinner

Honoring Jim Duchini

On Wednesday, May 30, HYS hosted it's annual Board and Committee Member Appreciation Dinner at the Erie Maennerchor Club.  The dinner provides HYS with the opportunity to express our appreciation to our volunteer Board and Committte members for donating their time, talents and skills to our agency.  It is also a wonderful forum for board members to meet and get to know the volunteers who serve on different committees and whom they might not have met before.

This event is also the time where HYS honors those board members whose 3rd and final terms are expiring on June 30th and now must rotate off the board.  This year the board members who are retiring are:

  • Jim Duchini
  • Mary Harrison-Youngs (not in attendance)
  • Fr. Scott Jabo (not in attendance)

Gary Borowy, Vice Chairperson and CEO John Petulla thanked  Mr. Duchini for his service and noted that each has proven to be a worthy advocate for the agency.  Each of these members will be receiving a plaque from Harborcreek to mark their acheivement.  In addition, Namon McWilliams was honored for his service - Mr. McWilliams made a difficult decision to resign from the board this year.

The board will now enter into summer recess.  When the new board year starts, we will welcome five new board members to our group:

  • Benton Elliott, Jr.
  • Terry Hokaj
  • Rick Linse
  • Alison Samuels
  • David Sanner

We look forward to a meaningful year ahead!
