Specialized Foster Host Home Treatment Program

Harborcreek Youth Services' commitment to children and families continues with the formation of a new program for Erie County children and families.  This new program, a Specialized Foster Host Home Treatment Program, will serve as a bundled treatment service on the Mental Health Continuum of Care.

The Erie County Department of Human Services in partnership with Community Care Behavioral Health, has recognized a need for local and diverse programs for children and their families.   The program is a behavioral health treatment program for children and their families and is designed to provide a child individualized mental health treatment in a family foster care setting. Host Home parents are extensively trained, supervised, and supported to be an integral part of the child's treatment team.  Host Homes must meet certain requirements as mandated by state law and regulations.

The program is based on a well-defined set of principles for mental health services and a trauma-informed care approach.  Services are designed to help children and adolescents who are experiencing or are at risk of developing, serious emotional problems.  In addition, intensive services are provided to the child’s family with the goal of reunification. Typically, children reside with foster parents for 6-9 months.

Harborcreek Youth Services is commited to providing this important level of behavioral health services to children and adolescents and their families.
